Hey, lovelies. :)
I’d really appreciate just a few minutes of your time to share with you about what’s up.
Let’s start at the beginning…
Ever since I was little, I have loved helping people. I remember someone recently telling me that at recess in elementary school, I would run to the kids who fell down and got hurt to make sure that they were okay and to give them a hug. Just as I have grown, this desire to help others who are hurting has grown as well. In middle school, this morphed into me helping my friends who had self-esteem issues. In high school, this desire to help the hurting was seen in me supporting and reaching out to my friends who had eating disorders.
Seeing so many of my friends suffer in this way really impacted me, and seeing how I could make a difference sparked a fire in my heart.
My experiences have given me a passion and a dream to one day help individuals who suffer with eating disorders in a counseling setting.
I have worked hard the last few years in the counseling program at my online university, learning lots and earning all A’s while also balancing my job as a nanny, hanging with my partner and family, and being involved in my church.
I’ve reached the point in my degree where I actually need to go to the brick-and-mortar university and finish up my remaining credits to compete my degree.
For me, this means moving over a thousand miles away… from my partner, my family, and the wonderful kids whom I nanny.
But following and reaching your dreams comes at a cost.
At the moment, I am feeling very pressed for cash.
I don’t have any financial support… just myself.
So, if you feel led, would you please consider donating?
By donating, you won’t just be helping me, but you’ll also be helping the individuals struggling with eating disorders whom I will be counseling someday.
If you can’t donate, that’s totally okay. Would you consider signal boosting this instead?
But because I am in need, I decided to reach out to y’all and give those who can donate the opportunity to help out in the area of eating disorders.
Any amount would really help, even if it’s just ten dollars!!
Thank you so much, and I wish you guys all of the happiness and wellness. :)

Help My Girlfriend See How Beautiful She Is!

I’ve been dating my girlfriend for nearly a year and a half now. My girlfriend is intelligent, hilarious, creative, kind, and extraordinary. And very beautiful!

However, her mom is a huge road block in the way of her self-esteem. This woman is cruel and extremely verbally abusive and has really damaged my girlfriend…my best friend…in the past. However, recently, her cruelty has reached new levels and has been seriously affecting this wonderful girl to the point where my girlfriend constantly, and frantically, asserts that she ‘needs’ to be skinny and ‘pretty. She’s seriously hurting herself daily to try and achieve that. Despite my constant assertions that she is gorgeous, she feels like the rest of the world is saying otherwise.

My girlfriend is in need of a massive wave of self-esteem…so please help! Please go to her blog stressfulthingscalledlife.tumblr.com, and send her a message of encouragement and compliments and stress how very wrong her mum is. Together we can help her see that who she is is wonderful already. :)

Heart Yourself!

Lisa, a lovely follower of mine, is starting their own body-positive blog… Heart Yourself! The goal is to get people to draw hearts on the part(s) of their body that they dislike and to spread love and self-empowerment. It had started as a class project, but Lisa hopes to take it further. I think that this is an amazing way to foster self-love and acceptance, so I encourage y’all to check out Lisa's body-positive blog Heart Yourself!
